First, thank you for purchasing the Mazurka Collection. I hope you enjoy it. If you are here because you found passages in one of my Chopin transcriptions that you know just cannot be right, then please make note of the following corrections. Chopin Mazurka, Op. 17, #2 (p. 51-53). There are several stray incorrect fingerings in this one that mysteriously cropped up in the final printing. They are mostly open-string markings (‘o’). They should be obvious, but to be safe, question every ‘o’ you see! The following are corrections for mistakes appearing on page 52 . Bar 29, beat 1: natural sign is for the ‘f’. Bar 29, beat 3: lower voice ‘c’ up one octave Bar 30 – exactly the same as bar 29 (‘f’ natural) Bar 31, beat 2: upper voice ‘b’ should be ‘a’ Bars 37-47: lower everything one octave (position markers are correct) Bar 48, beats 1 and 2: down one octave; beat 3 is correct Bar 51, beats 2 and 3: bottom space ‘f’ should be ‘e’ (F#7 chord) There are also several misprinted fingerings in Chopin’s Op. 17, #4.
